At Parkfields Surgery in Alvaston the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, smoking cessation, weight advice, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

The surgery will not be sending letter invitations for the influenza vaccination this year.
If you are over 65 years of age OR ,( under 65 AND have one of the following: Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Chronic Heart Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Neurological condition or have in the past received a letter invite), we would be grateful if you could contact the surgery from 3rd September to book your appointment. Please do not call before this date as we will not have the clinics allocated. (IF YOU ARE IN ONE OF THE ABOVE CATEGORIES AND DO NOT WISH TO HAVE A FLU VACCINATION THIS YEAR PLEASE ALSO INFORM THE SURGERY AFTER THE ABOVE DATE)
A modern information system has been developed, which will make increased use of information from medical records with the intention of improving health services. The system is being delivered by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) and NHS England on behalf of the NHS.

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
We are proud to be a member of N.A.P.P (National Association for Patient Participation). We hope that this will enable us to strengthen our relationship with our patients through our Patient Participation Group (PPG).
We work very closely with our PPG to strive for the best in service and care for our patients and this is summed up by the following comments from our chair:
As chair of Parkfield's Patient Participation Group (PPG) I have been very pleased with the way we have built a good relationship with the staff at the practice. We have worked with them on developing patient questionnaires and have been in the waiting room talking to patients helping them to complete the questionnaires and listening to their comments and suggestions. When the results are known they are published on the surgery's web site and we have all discussed any suggestions made. The practice has always responded very quickly and where appropriate has made changes and improvements to it's service as a result. Members of the PPG have been involved in staff training and we are supporting them in preparing for their inspection with the Care Quality Commission. They always strive to reach a very high standard of care and are very willing to discuss any concerns that patients may have.

You can order your prescriptions and book and cancel appointments online. Please ask at reception for your user name and password. Appointments are available up to 4 weeks in advance, however we will still always have earlier appointments available by phoning the surgery.
You can also access SystmOnline via your Apple devices running the IOS system. To download the app search for 'SystmOnline' in the app store
If you need medical help outside of our normal surgery hours then you can now call 111. This is free from landlines and mobiles. You will be assessed, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help you best including out of hours GPs. 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. For immediate, life threatening emergencies, continue to call 999
The email address that we use for receiving practice information is: email@example.com and it is checked on a daily basis, any information that you feel needs to be checked more urgently, should therefore be telephoned or faxed to the practice.
